How Federal Sub Academy works

A focused program that turns a working contractor into a subcontractor a federal prime can hire with confidence.

For contractors (subcontractors)

  1. Enroll. You join the Academy's training program.
  2. Learn the forms. SF 1413, daily reports, certified payroll, and the supporting documents — taught one document at a time, with examples.
  3. Practice the process. Work through realistic fill-in exercises on the same kinds of forms you will sign on a real job.
  4. Graduate vetted. Finish with a working knowledge of federal subcontract paperwork, ready to be hired by a prime that values a subcontractor who already knows the process.

For prime contractors

  1. Know what a graduate knows. The curriculum is built around the exact paperwork primes require on federal contracts.
  2. Hire easier. Graduates are easier to hire than competitors because they already understand the paperwork and processes on federal contracts.
  3. Run smoother. Cleaner daily reports and correct certified payroll mean less chasing and fewer corrections — the prime's life gets easier.
